Stump Grinding
Tree stumps can be more than just an inconvenience—they can detract from the appearance of your property, pose safety risks, and even hinder future landscaping or construction plans. At Watson Arbor Services, our professional stump grinding services are designed to seamlessly remove stumps, leaving your property clean, safe, and ready for whatever comes next.
Why Remove Stumps?
- Prevent Regrowth: Certain species, like Bradford Pears and Sweet Gums, can sprout new growth if the stump isn’t removed properly.
- Eliminate Hazards: Stumps can create tripping risks, especially in high-traffic areas or manicured landscapes.
- Improve Aesthetics: Stumps can detract from the overall beauty of your yard or commercial property.
- Prepare for the Future: Whether you’re planning new landscaping, planting, or construction, removing stumps is an important first step.
How Our Stump Grinding Services Work
Our stump grinding process is efficient, safe, and tailored to your property’s needs. We grind stumps to approximately 6 inches below ground level—or deeper if required—allowing the area to be repurposed for landscaping, planting, or construction. For a clean finish, we also offer the removal of grindings.
Before we begin any work, we kindly ask that you contact 811 to have all applicable underground hazards marked to ensure safety. When in doubt, it’s always best to have them mark the area to avoid any risks.
We price stump grinding based on the measurement of the stump at its widest part, ensuring fair and transparent pricing. Additionally, we offer discounts for multiple stumps removed during the same visit, making it cost-effective for larger projects or properties with multiple stumps.
When to Consider Stump Grinding
- If you’re dealing with a leftover stump from tree removal
- If the stump is located in a high-traffic area, increasing the risk of accidents
- If you’re planning a new project like landscaping or construction
- If you’re concerned about pests, such as termites or ants, that are attracted to decaying wood
What People Are Saying
— Christopher
“Removal of a dead bradford pear and a live red maple. Stump grinding of both. Arrived at day and time scheduled. Communicated effectively and clearly. Performed efficient and quick work. Cleaned up after themselves. Price is reasonable versus other Arbor companies in the area. High recommendation!”
— Jessica & Eric
“We had 2 trees trimmed up that were over our house. We also had a tree that was absolutely covered with a leafy vine plant that would have eventually killed it. They removed the vine and trimmed the tree and it looks like a whole new tree! They also did an amazing job of cleaning up all the vine and branches. Would definitely recommend them!”

“Nate, Clay, and John did an outstanding job removing nearly 20 trees for me. Most were very large pines over 100 feet tall with trunks between 2 and 3 feet in diameter at the base. The precision of felling the trees was amazing as they had some very narrow gaps in which to drop them. Most impressive was the professional manner in which they worked. Extreme thought and planning went into each of the very technical aspects of bringing down the trees.”
